From a two-desk startup in Bangalore to a Stockholm-headquartered enterprise technology partner, Tarento marks 15 years shaped by strong engineering, trusted partnerships, and an India-Nordic operating model built for long-term value.

As Tarento is marking 15 years since its founding, reflecting on a journey that began in 2009 with three engineers, two desks, and one room in Bangalore. What started as Adylan, a small digital firm supporting startups in Sweden, was built without external funding — but with a clear conviction that world-class software could be built from India for global clients.

Three engineers stood at the center of that beginning — Kumar Deepak, Rahul Karnawat, and Vijay Sunkeswari. The company was then called Adylan, a small digital firm serving startups in Sweden. What it lacked in resources, it made up for in strong engineering, commitment, and an early belief that geography could be turned into an advantage.

With one founder building relationships in Stockholm and the engineering base growing in Bangalore, an India-Nordic model began taking shape long before it became a formal story. That foundation would go on to define Tarento’s trajectory.

A year later, it found its first major inflection point.

When we were introduced to Connecta, one of Sweden’s leading consulting companies. What followed was more than a client engagement. Connecta saw the basis for something more enduring: an India center built on quality, trust, and proven execution.

That moment changed the company’s trajectory.

Two Desks in Bangalore, One Uncommon Idea

When Adylan was founded, Stockholm’s startup ecosystem was gaining momentum, while Bangalore had already established itself as a deep source of engineering talent.

For enterprise leaders, that early model still holds relevance. Strong cross-border partnerships are not built on cost alone. They are built on alignment, accountability, and the ability to deliver across cultures with consistency.

The Introduction That Changed Everything

From services vendor to helping shape an India center for a leading Swedish consultancy

Some inflection points in a company’s journey are quiet, but transformative. For Tarento’s founders, one such moment came in 2010.

Where many would have seen a conventional client opportunity, Connecta saw strategic potential. Instead of treating the Bangalore team as an offshore execution arm, it recognized the foundation of a long-term India center built on delivery excellence, trust, and operational credibility.

That shift in perception mattered. It elevated Tarento from a services provider to a trusted strategic capability platform.

"They did not just want our services. They wanted to build their entire India center around what we had created."

— Vijay, Managing Director

The lesson remains relevant: transformational opportunities rarely arrive before the work is ready. They appear after credibility has already been built.

Since 2016: Leading with Independence and Intent

A management buyout that created room for independent ambition

The years through Connecta, and later Acando, gave the leadership team more than growth. They brought enterprise discipline, operational maturity, and experience in scaling across geographies and client environments.

By 2016, Tarento was ready for its next chapter.

Tarento would operate independently and lead with a distinct point of view: India-rooted, Nordic-headquartered, and globally oriented.

We could now engage enterprises not as a supporting unit, but as a strategic partner building on its own terms.

Built Deliberately, Grown Strategically!

From a startup origin story to trusted partnerships with global brands

Fifteen years later, Tarento has grown into a very different company, but the principles that shaped it remain unchanged. Technical excellence continues to sit at the heart of how we work. Long-term trust still defines how we build relationships. And the India-Nordic bridge remains central to how we think, create, and deliver.

Today, Tarento operates as an intelligent enterprise company, bringing together digital transformation, data, design, and engineering to help organizations navigate change at scale.

What connects these partnerships to Day 1 is continuity: strong engineering, cross-cultural confidence, and a long-term view of value creation.

Founder's Note

Fifteen years later, it is still possible to picture that room in Bangalore.

Two desks. A crowd of 3. And a belief that the India-Nordic bridge was worth building.

And It was. What followed was not a straight line, but a series of defining chapters — growth, integration, independence, and reinvention.

For founders, operators, and enterprise leaders alike, the lesson is simple: enduring companies are often shaped long before the market notices them — in the standards they uphold, the trust they earn, and the work they continue to do when certainty is still absent.

"The right introduction finds you. But only if you are still there when it arrives."

Today, Tarento is a 700+ person organization partnering with Global clients, like IKEA, Pandora, Xylem, Ola Electric, the Gates Foundation, and many more.
