64,000 Transactions Per Second. Zero Failures. This Is What India's Civil Servants Did During National Learning Week ~ And How Tarento Helped Make It Possible

12 April 2026

India's largest government learning platform just handled peak traffic on par with the country's biggest consumer platforms. Here's what happened behind the scenes.

The iGOT Karmayogi Bharat platform — India's national learning platform for civil servants, built on open-source infrastructure — handled a peak of 64,000 transactions per second during Sadhana Saptah (National Learning Week). With 141 nodes ready, zero failures, CPU holding at 27%, and memory at 13%.

Not just absorbing peak load, but sustaining it with ample compute and memory headroom.

To put that in context: This level of traffic placed the platform in a category usually associated with high-volume consumer-scale digital systems. Not during a commercial sale or a sporting event — but during a government learning week, driven voluntarily by teachers, police constables, Safai Karmacharis, and frontline civil servants across 36 states and union territories.

The final numbers:

  • 3 crore+ course completions
  • 4.4 crore+ learning hours logged
  • 1.66 crore completions on AI courses

How the Surge Played Out

Daily course completions jumped from 2 lakh to 15.5 lakh — a 7-fold increase — over the course of National Learning Week. That's not a gradual climb. That's a workforce moving at a pace that is rarely seen in public-sector learning environments.

The clearest signal: AI dominated the learning agenda. Twelve of the top 15 most-completed courses during Sadhana Saptah were centered on artificial intelligence. Civil servants prioritizing data-driven governance and automation — voluntarily, at scale.

This is Mission Karmayogi moving from policy to practice: a shift from a rule-based system to a role-based one, where technology strengthens public service delivery.

The impact goes beyond one learning week. By building AI fluency at scale, India’s administration is better positioned to solve complex governance challenges with greater speed, precision, and citizen impact. It is a meaningful step toward Viksit Bharat, built on continuous learning and technological capability.

Behind the Screens

Tarento’s engineering team, working closely with key partners, mobilized a platform-wide readiness effort focused on resilience, scale, and operational continuity:

  • An independent audit of all 73 microservices on the platform
  • Full infrastructure pre-provisioning in anticipation of peak load
  • A specialist war room team on standby throughout the week
  • Load testing at unprecedented scale, stress-testing the system well beyond expected traffic
  • An all-hands operating posture — treating National Learning Week the way Flipkart treats Big Billion Days

Every decision was guided by one objective: when National Learning Week began, the platform had to remain stable, responsive, and resilient under peak demand.

Collaboration Behind the Outcome

The leadership of Karmayogi Bharat and the Capacity Building Commission provided clear direction and trust. COSS was supported with independent audit and on-ground expertise, while Google Cloud and Amnex Infotechnologies contributed to infrastructure readiness and operational support.

Large-scale digital infrastructure succeeds when multiple teams align around a shared outcome: reliability, resilience, and uninterrupted citizen-scale service delivery.

Beyond the Numbers

iGOT Karmayogi demonstrates India’s ability to design, build, and operate digital public infrastructure at a serious national scale.

Tarento has been the technology partner behind iGOT Karmayogi since 2021 — engineering the platform that today serves 7.5 million civil servants, hosts 2,000+ courses across 22+ Indian languages, and reaches 800+ districts.

The National Learning Week demonstrated adoption at the national scale. Millions of India's public servants — across roles, regions, and responsibilities — are choosing to spend their time learning. Voluntarily. At a pace that set platform records.

The Next Chapter

The 7-fold surge in daily learning during Sadhana Saptah is a signal, not a ceiling. As AI-native tools, such as AI-driven capacity-building plans, make learning more personalized, the gap between capability building and real-world application will continue to narrow.

Tarento will continue engineering platforms that make this future more inclusive, scalable, and impactful.
