NEFAB Infor M3 Implementation - A Paradigm Shift in Productivity, Energy, and Functionality

Client overview: Nefab Group, sustainable packaging across 38 countries

Nefab Group is a Swedish global leader in sustainable industrial packaging and logistics. The company saves environmental and financial resources by optimising supply chains, working with customers to design smarter packaging and logistics for sectors including Telecom, Datacom, Semicon, Energy, Healthcare equipment, Mining & Construction, and LiB & E-mobility. With over 75 years of heritage, Nefab now operates across 38+ countries with around 5,000 employees and annual revenues above SEK 10 billion. The group is owned by the Nordgren/Pihl family and FAM AB, part of the Wallenberg ecosystem.

The challenge: a single cloud ERP platform for a multi-country, multi-industry group

In 2020, Nefab decided to standardise on a single cloud ERP platform to carry the group's operations, compliance and supply-chain visibility into its next phase of global expansion. The brief had three layers. Select the right cloud ERP. Prove it on a pilot site that included real-world complexity. Then roll it out across the group's worldwide footprint without disrupting daily operations.

Why Infor M3 CloudSuite was the right fit for global manufacturing and distribution

Nefab selected Infor M3 CloudSuite as its global ERP. M3 is purpose-built for medium to large global manufacturers and distributors, with native support for multi-company, multi-site and multi-country operations. Infor M3 CloudSuite has been recognised as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud ERP for Product-Centric Enterprises, which reflects the platform's depth in the industries Nefab serves.

India was chosen as the pilot site. The Indian operation gave Nefab a meaningful test of the platform under real conditions: multi-site, multi-division operations with significant local compliance complexity, including India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) requirements.

Tarento as Extended Delivery Centre for the Infor M3 implementation

Infor Nordics led the implementation. Tarento was selected as the Extended Delivery Centre (EDC) supporting the build, the pilot delivery and the global rollouts that would follow. As EDC, the Tarento team worked alongside Infor and Nefab's central programme team across the full implementation lifecycle:

  • Solutioning of the M3 CloudSuite configuration against Nefab's business processes
  • System Integration Testing across the M3 footprint and connected systems
  • Localisation for India, including statutory and tax handling
  • GAP analysis and resolution between standard M3 and Nefab's specific requirements
  • UAT execution with Nefab's business users
  • Data migration from legacy systems into M3 CloudSuite
  • Cutover to go-live and hyper-care support through the stabilisation period

The India pilot: from kick-off to go-live with GST integration

The pilot implementation began in February 2022 and went live on 3 October 2022, including GST integration with India's Government portal. All Nefab divisions in India transitioned to the new ERP on schedule and continued daily operations on M3 from cutover onwards. The pilot proved two things at once. It validated that Infor M3 CloudSuite could carry Nefab's operational and compliance requirements in a complex local environment, and it produced a reusable implementation template for the global rollout that followed.

Global Infor M3 rollout: scaling the template across Nefab's 38-country footprint

The India pilot became the foundation for Nefab's wider Infor M3 CloudSuite rollout, with subsequent waves planned across the group's worldwide operating units through 2023 and 2024. As Nefab continued to expand, including new manufacturing sites and acquisitions in Latin America and Asia-Pacific in 2024, the standardised M3 platform gave the group a consistent operational backbone to bring new entities into.

Why this Infor M3 CloudSuite implementation matters

Nefab's Infor M3 CloudSuite programme is the kind of ERP transformation where success depends as much on disciplined delivery as on the platform choice. The combination of Infor's product, Nefab's pilot-then-scale strategy and Tarento's Extended Delivery Centre capacity produced a clean pilot go-live with full GST integration, and a template the group could use to standardise operations across its 38+ country footprint.

The same EDC model is what Tarento offers other manufacturing, distribution and supply-chain businesses planning a cloud ERP implementation or a global Infor M3 rollout.
