Tarento helps Martin & Servera close an estimated SEK 85million partnership deal with Iver

Client overview: Martin & Servera Group

Martin & Servera is Sweden's leading wholesaler for restaurants and commercial kitchens. The group brings together seven operating companies, including Martin & Servera Restauranghandel, Martin & Servera Logistik, Martin & Servera Restaurangbutiker, Galatea, Grönsakshallen Sorunda, Fiskhallen Sorunda and Fällmans Kött. That structure makes IT a multi-business challenge. The group's IT estate has to serve trading, logistics, retail and specialist food businesses across the group.

The challenge: rethinking IT infrastructure sourcing

Martin & Servera wanted to step back and look at how it sourced and ran its IT infrastructure across the group. The brief had three parts. Define a sourcing strategy that fits a multi-company operation with strict security and cost requirements. Reshape the internal IT organisation to manage that strategy day to day. And run a procurement that brought in the right Nordic infrastructure partner for the next five years. The wider context was a continued digital transformation programme that depended on a stable, secure and automated infrastructure base.

Tarento as independent sourcing advisor

Martin & Servera engaged Tarento as an independent advisor for the full sourcing exercise. Tarento was not on the supplier side of the table and was not selling the infrastructure that would eventually be procured. That neutrality is what made the advice useful, and it is the model Tarento brings to strategic IT sourcing engagements across the Nordics.

What Tarento delivered

The engagement covered three connected workstreams:

  • A new IT infrastructure sourcing strategy tailored to the multi-company group and aligned with its digital transformation roadmap, with explicit positions on security, automation and cost-efficiency.
  • An internal IT organisation design to support the new sourcing model, including the team structure and responsibilities needed to manage a strategic infrastructure partner rather than a transactional supplier.
  • Vendor selection support through the procurement process, from requirements definition and supplier shortlist to evaluation, due diligence and final partner choice.

Outcome: a SEK 85 million, five-year infrastructure partnership with Iver

Iver Sverige was selected as Martin & Servera's new IT partner under a five-year agreement valued at approximately SEK 85 million. Iver is delivering a complete infrastructure solution built on its reference architecture, with security and automation as the central pillars. The scope spans complex x86 and IBMi server environments, cybersecurity services, workplace services and management of public cloud services.

Martin & Servera publicly noted that the procurement sought a partner with broad Nordic IT delivery experience, and identified Iver as the right fit. The deal supports Martin & Servera's continued digital transformation programme on a foundation of secure, automated infrastructure managed by a single strategic supplier.

Why this matters

Strategic IT sourcing is not just a procurement exercise. The strategy, the internal organisation that runs it, and the supplier selection itself are three sides of the same decision, and getting one wrong undermines the other two. Tarento's role was to bring the three together for Martin & Servera, from strategy through to signed contract, so the group entered a five-year partnership it could actually run. The same approach is what Tarento offers other Nordic enterprises rethinking how they buy and manage IT infrastructure, cloud and managed services ahead of a major modernisation or vendor change.
